River Walk - Yellow Ribbon Project

Each year, many tourists visit The River Walk, one of San Antonio's main attractions. The River Walk connects many of the city's best known landmarks including the Alamo, Marriage Island, La Villita, HemisFair Park, San Antonio Museum of Art, and Pearl Brewery.

This spring, participate in the 2nd Annual River Walk Yellow Ribbon Project. Ribbons will be displayed on the trees that line the River Walk from May 4-18, and represent the memory of a loved one in the Armed Forces. Ribbons can be purchased online for $5, and the name of your loved one will be put online as well as in the Armed Forces River Parade Program.

The Yellow Ribbon Project leads up to America's Armed Forces River Parade to be held May 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This celebration for the dedicated men and women of the Armed Forces can be viewed at no charge from balconies of the River Walk restaurants, or from the banks of the river. You're also able to purchase a $20 ticket to reserve a seat in the Arneson River Theatre. The parade will feature 25 floats themed to represent all branches of service. Military groups and local artists will provide entertainment.

Don't miss this wonderful, worthwhile event. Military City, USA wants to honor our Armed Services personnel, both past and present.
